About APS NOVASTAR LLC
Automated Production Systems, Inc. (an APS NOVASTAR LLC company) located
in Huntingdon Valley, PA, was incorporated in 1982 as a manufacturer
of lead-forming equipment. The founder was an engineer working in an
electronics manufacturing environment where he saw lead forming equipment
in operation. He decided that he could make that kind of equipment simpler,
better and less expensive. Offering cost effective solutions for lower
volume assemblers and invoking practical 'hands-on' advice to every
sale became an early theme stressed in the way APS did business. Even
today, thru-hole lead-forming equipment is still a significant portion
of the business.

After 10 years of continued growth, APS decided to expand its horizons
and apply its expertise to the low to medium volume surface mount assembly
market. The basic SMT manufacturing process can be simplified to the
following steps: print, place, reflow. To address these applications,
APS, in 1992, introduced its own line of manual stencil printers, manual
pick and place machines and benchtop reflow ovens - the Gold-Series.
These systems quickly established APS as a leading SMT equipment provider.
In fact, the Gold-Series SMT line, sold in over 20 countries, has become
the standard for low volume surface mount assembly!
APS continues to focus on the three-step manufacturing process for medium
to low-volume assembly. To answer our customers' needs, APS most recently
introduced automated stencil printers and pick-and-place machines as
well as new-technology, high temperature inline reflow ovens. The L-series
pick and place machines are specifically designed for facilities that
require quick set-up, ease of operation, high accuracy and high reliability.
Even during our industry's worst downturn ever, the L-series automated
pick and place machines have been widely accepted and further establish
APS as the leader in low volume automation.
Its range of equipment, whether manual or automated, is well suited
to the current SMT assembly market. This market is mainly comprised
of companies just converting from thru-hole to SMT production, and companies
specializing in R&D/prototyping assembly. High-mix, low-volume assembly
is the prevailing trend of the day!
APS doesn't just sell machines; they specialize in educating customers
on processes, materials, equipment and implementation. Customers often
decide to utilize APS equipment because APS provides them with a total
solution and helps make the entire process painless. They are often
in need of a quick education on certain applications and good advice
on how to get the job done.
To provide superior customer service and support, APS began its close
partnership with REStronics in the midwest which now covers most of
continental USA. This partnership has greatly enhanced APS's position
as a leading equipment supplier in the USA. To further their growth,
APS has recently expanded into Europe, China, the Pacific rim and South
America.
APS will continue to develop products which apply to low and medium
volume manufacturing processes. Their constant goal is to continue to
refine and define low to mid-volume equipment for the particular niche
market that they have been serving for all these years. APS intends
to continue their focus on offering customers all the help they need
in implementing SMT production processes in order to make their system
purchase truly turnkey.
Thank you for visiting our Web site. We look forward to meeting your
application requirements...
